Maybe you didn't find exactly what you were looking for in our online store. Never fear—one of Margot Madison Creative Stationery's specialties is creating custom invitation designs. We've worked with everyone from A-list clientele from wedding planner to the stars, Colin Cowie, to people just like you. So, whether you're planning a wedding, a birthday party, or just need a beautifully designed moving announcement, here's how to work with us to create a custom design that fits you to a T.

How does the custom process work?
It's really easy and fun. We start with a consultation where we discuss your ideas and needs and formulate a general idea of what you need. If you are interested in getting samples made for your specific event, a $100 deposit is made. This deposit is deducted from your final bill if you choose to continue with the project. We will schedule a time to meet again in about 2 weeks to show you actual samples based on the ideas discussed at the consultation. Once a final design is chosen, we estimate the job costs, at least half of which are paid. Then we finalize the wording with a series of faxed or e-mailed proofs, have you sign-off and finish the job.

Can I do my own assembly?
Absolutely! We encourage you to have as much or as little involvement in the final product. This is also a great way to achieve an expensive look for a much more budget-friendly price. We will show you what to do, reccommend supplies and give you tips based on our experience to make sure the project goes as smoothly as possible.

What is needed for a consultation?
If you have an idea of what you want, that's great. If you have absolutely no idea, that's fine too. We are here to help you. Bring pictures, color and/or fabric swatches, invitations you've liked, theme ideas, rough quantities and most importantly, some idea of your budget. You should have an idea of what pieces you will need for you invitations such as a reply card, reception card, directions or accommodations card, additional party information etc. Basic wording is also good to have so that we can use it in your samples we create.

How long does it take for invitations to be printed?
The companies we use for our album invitations take about 1 to 2 weeks to complete. However, revisions made in the proofing process can lengthen this timeframe.

When should I start?
As early as possible! Since most invitations should be mailed 4 to 6 weeks prior to the event, we suggest starting the custom process at least 1 to 2 months prior to that.
